Conjugations of Antibodies and Other Molecules
Antibody Conjugation Services
We conjugate antibodies (and antigens) to molecules for detection purposes or other applications. The most commonly used conjugates used for antibodies are the following:
Functional peptides
Akaline Phosphatase (AP) Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) Biotin Flourescein Isothiocyanate (FITC) R. Phycoerythrin (RPE) Rhodamine (TRITC) Allophycocyanin (APC) |
Conjugating Your Peptide Prior to Immunization
If the peptides are short (in general, less then about 30 amino acids), a conjugation to a carrier is necessary. If small molecules are injected without conjugation, they will quickly defuse from the injection site and get efficiently removed from the body. This is not desirable if a good immunologic response is desired.
We can assist you with conjugating your antigen (peptides or other small molecules) prior to immunization. The most common carrier is KLH, however OVA, BSA and THR is also used.
